Overview
Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation," whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed." - CCC 1285
Confirmation for High School Youth
Confirmation is a part of our comprehensive youth ministry program, Sunday Night Lights. Young Catholics who have already received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and Holy Communion, and are in 10th - 12th grades are eligible.
Requirements
Confirmation candidates must have received the sacrament of Baptism, Reconciliation, and Holy Communion prior to reception of Confirmation. If you need to receive Reconciliation and Communion as well, you must receive special formation for these sacraments. Please contact the Religious Education Office at Christ the King and ask for information on the Sacramental Preparation Program.
For those seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation, a list of requirements can be found HERE. For more information about our Confirmation program, please contact the Director of Faith Formation.
