First Reconciliation and Eucharist

Baptized children in grade two and above will be prepared for these sacraments.  Students are required to participate in the academic program at their grade level in addition to sacramental preparation. Sacramental preparation includes two workbooks that must be completed at home with parental assistance.   If books are not completed and returned, the student will have to wait another year to receive the sacrament(s).  Parents are required to attend several evening meetings. Students and parents are also required to attend a Day of Recollection that will be scheduled in early Spring. A fee of $20.00 in addition to the family fee of $30.00 will be assessed to each student to cover the cost of student texts and parent guides.

Confirmation: The sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated after a nine-month period of preparation. Each candidate is required to have a sponsor (a confirmed, practicing Catholic).  Students are required to attend monthly meetings. Click here for our youth confirmed by Bishop Aymond on the Feast of Christ The King.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA): For unbaptized individuals, age 6 or older, desiring full initiation into the Catholic faith. Catechumens meet monthly with godparent(s). This invitation extends to anyone interested in exploring the Catholic Church and Her traditions.

Those attending are under no obligation to commit themselves to become members of the Catholic Church. However, the opportunity will be open to those who feel the Lord calling them to continue the journey. Through the sacraments of Christian initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist), we are freed from the power of darkness and joined to Christ's death, burial and resurrection.

Baptism incorporates us into Christ and forms us into God's people. By signing us with the gift of the Spirit, Confirmation makes us more completely the image of the Lord and fills us with the Holy Spirit, so that we may bear witness to him before the entire world. Coming to the table of the Eucharist, we eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man so that we may have eternal life.

This process is not only open to those from other denominations exploring the Catholic Church and Her traditions, but also to those Catholics in need of the sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist.

For more information about R.C.I.A., please contact the Church Office-(254) 939-0806.

The sacraments of initiation: Baptism,Confirmation and Eucharist, will be celebrated at the Easter Vigil.  Click here for an RCIA calendar.
